Lake Michigan churned up wild waves last week, due to a windy weather pattern that set up over the Midwest, thanks to Hurricane Sandy. Wild waves battered the Kenosha lighthouse and some 256 residents were put on notice that high waves could cause flooding and possible evacuations would be needed. Kenosha County Emergency Management made sand bags available to residents. While the large waves drew crowds to the shoreline, the highest waves, projected to be upwards of 25 feet high stayed away from the shore. (Earlene Frederick photo)
